In February 2019, Kesarinandan Travels had the honor of providing transportation services to a high-level delegation from the Afghanistan Government’s Agriculture Department, in association with GIZ – Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH, and the EU FARM (Facility for Agricultural and Rural Market Development) program.
The purpose of the team’s visit was focused on grapes research in India, specifically understanding best practices in grape cultivation, export-quality standards, and innovations in vineyard management. Over a 6-day visit, the delegation explored multiple key regions in Maharashtra known for their agricultural excellence: Pune, Nashik, and Sangli.
As per their detailed itinerary, Kesarinandan Travels provided a 17 seater Minibus air-conditioned minibus, complete with a well-experienced, professional driver, punctual service, and high standards of hygiene and comfort. Our vehicle was used for:
19th Feb 2019: Airport pickup from Pune Airport and transfer to hotel
20th Feb 2019: 24-hour round trip to Nashik – a major grape production center in India
21st Feb 2019: Local field visits in Nashik followed by road journey to Sangli
22nd Feb 2019: Day-long agricultural research visit in and around Sangli
23rd Feb 2019: Return road journey from Sangli to Pune
24th Feb 2019: Final drop to Pune Airport

The team conducted site visits at premier Indian agricultural institutions including the ICAR-National Research Centre for Grapes in Pune, as well as field-level farm visits in Nashik and Sangli. These regions are globally recognized for their role in India’s grape export economy.
From vineyard layout and irrigation systems to disease control and post-harvest handling, the Afghanistan delegation gained rich insights into India’s grape production model – knowledge that would go on to benefit their domestic farming communities back home.
